1. Make the mold. The process begins with injecting wax into metal molds to form patterns, which are then assembled into trees with wax gating systems. So metal molds for wax model are critical tools in investment casting, designed to mass-produce high-precision wax patterns for complex metal castings. The mold is as below pictures:
2. Make the casting in lost wax casting process. Shells are built by dipping the trees into silica sol slurries, followed by successive layers of sand; after drying, wax is removed and the shells are baked at 900-1200°C to enhance strength. Stainless steel is melted in vacuum induction furnaces and poured into the preheated shells. Post-cooling, shells are removed by vibration, and castings undergo heat treatment. Then CNC milling the two flanges, find in following pictures.
3. Mill the boss surface flat to ensure it's level and smooth. Then, tap an M18 thread into it. Make sure to use the right drill bit before tapping to get the correct hole size, and go slowly to avoid any damage or mistakes.
4. Finish all the CNC machining process and inspection, pack it into box.
Make sure each part goes through milling, taping. After that, carry out a thorough inspection, check dimensions with calipers, look for surface defects, and verify it meets the drawing specs. Then put the part in protective bag, place it in box, seal it up, and stick on the shipping label.
