Product Introduction


This customized chroming wing bolt is from our Brazil customer, this is an exterior component, so the surface requirement is really high. There won't be allowed any flaws or other defect on the surface.

Material and process


Material introduction


The custom wing bolt is made from brass material, the brass material is easy to chrome after polishing process. It ensures the chrome plating bonds firmly, has a mirror-like high gloss effect, and avoids common defects such as peeling, or uneven surface.

The wing bolt is simple to work, the head is made by hot forging process and then CNC machining the thread on the bottom. After the analysis, we began the mold designing and making.


Mold making


Using a sawing machine to cut the mold steel billet according to the design dimensions. First perform quenching and high-temperature tempering treatment, adjusting the hardness of the mold steel to HRC28~32, which is conducive to subsequent cutting processing. Then a CNC milling machine is used to rough process the mold cavity, flash groove, and draft angle, removing most of the excess material. At the same time, drill the cooling water channels and bolt holes, the water channels need to be sealed. The flat grinding machine is needed to polish the upper and lower surfaces of the mold, preventing the upper and lower molds from misaligning during the mold assembly.

After finishing that, the brass wing bolt were sent for chroming, here is the picture of completing part:

Packing


All this brass bolts require cautious protection. Each brass bolt is to be individually wrapped in a bubble bag to prevent scratches and bump, then pack them all into the cartons. And they are sent by express.
