The product is a zamak handle, used on a door. Zamak, is zinc alloy. It provides excellent corrosion resistance, thanks to its ability to form a protective oxide layer that shields against moisture, humidity, and mild chemicals. This durability ensures long-term use without rusting or degradation, even in challenging environments like bathrooms or coastal areas. Zamak is lightweight yet strong, reducing installation strain while maintaining structural integrity to withstand daily wear and tear.
The material is zamak and the door handles need to undergone die casting process.
Zinc alloy No.5, also known as ZA8, is a widely used die-casting alloy composed primarily of zinc with added aluminum (3.5%–4.3%), copper (0.75%–1.25%), and magnesium (0.03%–0.08%). Engineered for balanced mechanical properties, it offers superior casting fluidity and dimensional stability, making it ideal for complex parts with thin walls.
The mold is made from H13 tool steel. H13 tool steel, a widely recognized hot-work die steel, is renowned for its exceptional combination of hardness, toughness, and heat resistance, making it important in high-temperature manufacturing processes. Composed primarily of carbon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and silicon, this alloy is designed to withstand the rigors of die casting, forging, and extrusion where prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures is common. In industrial applications, H13 tool steel is the material of choice for manufacturing die-casting dies, extrusion presses, forging dies, and hot stamping tools.
Then begin to make the mold of handles after the mold material is confirmed. The mold making process is CNC center machined first for the rough shape and wire cut or spark cut for precision process.
the mold of handle-1
the mold of handle-2
the mold of handle-3
There are different cavities of the handles' mold, 1-4 and 1-6 cavity are used in this project.
After the molds finishing, we move forward to die casting the samples and send the customer for confirmation.
We begin to produce the mass production when the samples getting approval. Here are some of rough castings:
Then the castings are sent to grind, polish, some of the surfaces need to be chroming.
This product has extremely high surface requirements, so we exercise extra caution from production to packaging to avoid scratches. We use bubble wrap for individual packaging to provide reliable cushioning and protection. Each product is individually wrapped in standard bubble wrap, depending on requirements, to create a protective air cushion that absorbs shocks and prevents scratches during handling and transit.
